Certified Nursing Assistant

In this course the student will master the basic skills needed to take care of residents in a state approved long-term care facilities or a hospital setting. Total training time will be 40 hours of classroom training and 80 hours of clinical training. The student will learn the fundamentals of caring for patients. Students will learn how to assist with the activities of daily living, bathing, dressing, exercise movement, eating, eliminating safety measures, and more techniques. Student will have to pass a pre-entry exam that is required by the State of Indiana in order to enroll.

This is an Indiana State Department of Health course for for the Certified Nurse Aide Assistant.


Participant Eligibility

  1. Must be at least 17 years of age.
  2. A Physical and a two-step TB tests are mandatory and at the student's expense.
  3. Student must provide a criminal background check. This has to be done before the start of class. (At students expense).

Program Location:
Classes will be held at In Training College. The clinical portion will be held a clinical site in which we have an agreement with.


Program Dates and Times:
  Day classes are offered monthly with weekend classes offered twice a year. Refer to the "schedule tab" for dates and times. We do not offer part-time or evening classes.


Enrollment:

      1. Student must pass a pre-entrance exam, consisting of basic Math and English skills.

     2.  A $100.00 deposit is required to hold your spot in the class. This will be due upon enrollment and is non-refundable

    3. Call and make an appointment. 

 

 

Completion:

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be prepared to work in a heathcare setting utilizing basic nursing skills. There will be a written and a skill performace evaluation at State testing.

Once the student has passed both written and the skills portion of the State Exam, they will be placed on the Indiana CNA registry.
