Medical Terminology

This course is designed to give the student knowledge of medical terms and abbreviations commonly used in the healthcare setting.  The student will learn how to break medical terms into their component parts in order to define the terms.  The rules of medical language and spelling will also be touched on.  The student will also gain knowledge of the body, body relationship terms along with a basic introduction to Anatomy and Physiology of the body systems and related terminology including diseases and disorders, and diagnostic and treatment processes.

Participant Eligibility
The student must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Program Days and Times
This class will meet on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This class will run for twelve weeks.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to use medical language appropriately.
