Pharmacy Technician Program

This class is approved by the Indiana Board of Pharmacy. The course will prepare the student to understand the roles of a Pharmacy Techinican. The pharmacy tech course emphasis' on algebra. students must know this going into the program. Student will have to take a pre-entry exam consiting of this math in order to enroll. Basic medical terms, reading and interpreting medication orders and prescriptions. The student will also learn and define the drugs by generic and brand names, dispensing prescriptions, billing and reimbursement. Student will calculate doses for the weight of a person or child being prescribed medications and more.

Participant Eligibility:Must have a High School Diploma, G.E.D. or Transcript before the start of the course and again when they apply for their State Licensure.                          

Student must have strong basic algebra skills.                                      

Student will take a pre-entry math exam in order to enroll on the program.

Program Location:
Classes for the Phamacy Tech will be held at the college. Rotations will be held at a facility that we have an agreement with.

Program Dates and Times:
Tuesday evenings from 5:00pm-9:00 p.m. Weeks TBA for classroom


  1. Maximum enrollment is 11 students
  2. Class size is subject to cancellation do to low enrollement.
  3. Students must pass a pre-entry math test in order to enroll in the program.


Successful completion of this course will result in an Indiana State License number as a Pharmacy Technician with the $25 fee paid to The Indiana Board of Pharmacies.  Students will also be eligible to sit for the National Certification exam given by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).(Certification fee is the responsibility of the student). Student will be given all informaion at the end of the program.
