Pharmacy Technician Program

This course is an Indiana Board of Pharmacy approved program.  This course will prepare the student to understand the role that a Pharmacy Technician plays in the retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and the long-term care pharmacy.  This course has a strong emphasis in basic algerbra.  The student will learn basic medical terminology, reading and interpreting medication orders and prescriptions.  The student will define drugs by generic and brand names.  The student will also learn rules of dispensing prescriptions and so much more.

Participant Eligibility:
Must have a High School Diploma, G.E.D. or Transcript.                           

Student must have strong basic algerbra skills.                                      

Student must pass the pre-test on basic algerbra before enrolling in this course.

Program Location:
Classes will be held at In Training College

Program Dates and Times:
Wednesday evenings from 5:00pm-9:00 p.m. for 16 weeks


  1. Maximum enrollment is 20 students
  2. Class size is subject to cancellation do to low enrollement.
  3. Students must pass a pre-entry math test


Successful completion of this course will result in an Indiana State License number as a Pharmacy Technician with the $25 fee paid to The Indiana Board of Pharmacies.  Students will also be eligible to sit for the National Certification exam given by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).(Certification fee is the responsibility of the student). Student will be given all informaion at the end of the program.
